INDIA: October 24 - November 12 2017

India is somewhere we have long talked about visiting but Steve was reluctant as he had been laid low by 'Delhi-belly', needing a doctor, on a business trip many years ago. Eventually he was persuaded, and we decided to go with Saga, partly because we had travelled with them to Vietnam and Cuba, and partly because we thought the 'car and personal guide' option that many of our friends had taken would be claustraphobic, preferring the opportunity to meet some like-minded fellow travellers.
As it is such a vast country where do you start to decide where to go? Being the 70th anniversary of both Indian Independence and Partition the Echoes of the Empire Tour offered us the chance to see a lot of the country, albeit with a great deal of domestic travelling, and to put what we saw into a historical context.

  1. Wow! Love that graphic you have added of the map and route. I'm really relieved too that you managed 19 days in India without Dehli belly x

  2. This was our second trip to India with Saga and once again was the best trip even all the domestic travel made it worthwhile and we covered a vast area and saw many different places which couldnt have been achieved on one trip without the internal travel. An amazing country, would love to now visit some of the southern parts.
